Description

The mandrel pulley or spindle pulley is a metal part that spins the blades of a riding mower as it is turned with a belt. Though quite durable, on occasion, something happens to dent or warp the pulley housing, interfering with the turning of the blades and creating a dangerous situation. Once you have found a stationary place for the mower and made certain it cannot be started, drop the mower housing by removing the locking pins and arms. Next, you’ll want to disconnect the spring from the clutch rod. This will allow you to roll the mowing belt off the engine pulley. Remove the deck from beneath the tractor. Using a lubricant, remove the flange nut from the pulley assembly. Next, take the top flange nut off the pulley with a socket wrench. Penetrating oil may be required. Take the pulley from the spindle. Reassembling the unit is a matter of walking back through the disassembly process. This spindle pulley is an OEM replacement manufactured by Husqvarna. In addition, it is compatible with many Craftsmen mowers as well. This OEM part is individually packaged and sold.
