Description

This is a replacement chainsaw retaining ring. The sprocket is commonly attached to the gear drive shaft in chainsaws with a retaining ring. If the original retaining ring becomes damaged, the chainsaw will not operate properly.Needle-nose, snap ring, or retaining ring pliers may be required to remove the old, damaged retaining ring. To install the new retaining ring, snap ring or needle-nose pliers should be placed into the small holes located on the new retaining ring. Then, slightly open the pliers to pull back the retaining ring's arms, opening up the ring center. Careful attention should be paid while opening the retaining ring to avoid overstretching. Overstretching the retaining ring would lead to the sprocket not correctly attaching to the chainsaw's gear drive shaft. Finally, with proper sizing, the retaining ring can be placed over the wheel grove, attaching the sprocket to the drive shaft.This retaining ring is an OEM part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer.
