Description

This starter assembly is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is found on trimmers and other outdoor lawn and garden equipment that utilize pull starts. This starter assembly is a recoil system that uses a pull rope with a handgrip, a starter pulley, and a starter spring. The grip is used to pull the rope, which releases the tension spring from the pulley. This causes the crankshaft to spin so that the engine starts. These parts are all covered by a plastic shroud to protect them from damage. However, normal wear and tear can lead to failure of the system. It can be easier and quicker to replace the entire starter assembly than it is to take it apart and replace one piece. Before removing the starter assembly, remove the spark plug. This repair requires a screwdriver to remove the old starter and install the new starter assembly. Do not misplace the screws; these are not included with the assembly. After the new starter is installed, reinsert the spark plug and pull the starter to check the repair. This starter assembly is sold as one complete, pre-assembled unit.
