This is a metal belt cover. Designed for lawn tractors and lawn mowers, this part connects to the deck and serves to shelter and house the mandrel pulley assembly and belt. Without this cover, the belt and assembly could become compromised from dirt and debris and the lawn mower would cease to function. The cover is made of metal and when exposed to natural elements it is susceptible to corrosion and chemical degradation over time. It is also possible for it to become damaged accidentally if struck by a heavy object.The belt cover is relatively easy to install. The only tools required will be a wrench set. First, unfasten the nuts and bolts securing the old one in place. Then remove the old one from the mower and fasten the new one in its place.This is a genuine replacement belt cover and it is sold separately.
