The Mounting Plate Assembly is an OEM part for GE microwaves. This component is designed to mount and stabilize the microwave over the range, ensuring it is safely anchored in its designated space. The mounting plate serves as an interface between the microwave and the wall or cabinet, distributing the weight evenly and providing a firm foundation for the appliance.

Causes of a bad Mounting Plate Assembly can stem from improper installation, which may lead to undue stress and eventual warping or weakening of the material.

Symptoms of a bad Mounting Plate include:

• Loose or wobbly microwave unit, indicating the plate may be unable to properly support the microwave's weight.

• Difficulty in aligning or fitting the microwave onto the mounting plate, which could be due to warping or damage.

• Visible signs of wear, rust, or damage on the plate itself, which can compromise the stability and safety of the mounted microwave.

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
