Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP71001970
A replacement oven door seal that restores a tight gasket between the oven and door. It helps prevent heat loss, reduce uneven cooking and keep the exterior cooler for safer, more consistent results. What it does:
- Creates an airtight seal between the oven cavity and door to reduce heat escape.
- Helps maintain stable cooking temperatures to minimize hot spots and uneven baking.
- Stops smoke or fumes from leaking around the door during use.
- Visible signs of failure include tears, compressed or brittle material, and gaps along the door edge.
What's included: One door seal. Install notes:
- Disconnect power (or gas supply) and allow the oven to fully cool before starting work.
- Handle the gasket gently to avoid tearing; align and seat it into the door channel per the OEM pattern.
- Some models require removing the oven door or retaining clips — keep and reuse any factory fasteners when possible.
- Refer to the appliance's OEM service instructions for model-specific removal and reinstallation guidance.
