The Overlay is an OEM part for Frigidaire ranges. It provides the protective plastic face that interfaces with the electronic control buttons and display.
Causes of a bad overlay can include cracks or breaks from repeated cleaning, warping or discoloration from heat exposure over time, and physical damage from impact.
Symptoms of a bad control board overlay include:
- Non-responsive or inoperable control buttons
- Illegible or faded labels and display graphics
- Gaps or loose fit of the overlay allowing moisture ingress
- Premature wear reducing the overlay's protective function
