George C Kingwood , TX August 30, 2015 Appliance: LG Dryer DLE5977B Lg dryer (12 yrs old) would dry for a while on any heat setting then shut completely off stay off no power complete black out then after 20 30 minutes come back on I spoke with the experts at parts pro and they suspected the main power board. I ordered the main power board along with the control panel. Since I was taking everything apart I decided to replace other components as well- thermostats, thermistor , sensor wire. Tonya S Grand Blanc , MI July 01, 2019 Appliance: LG Dryer DLG5988WM My dryer started to squeak and smell of burnt rubber I replaced all four drum support roller assemblies, and the belt. I also cleaned more lint than I realized could accumulate in a dryer!! After that, the dryer then turned but would not heat. I found that weird because it was not part of my original issue. I purchased the moisture sensor and it's holder as well as a new wire harness because I thought I may have damaged it in the assembly or my cleaning. I also purchased the thermistor assembly because there were forums that said this might also be the cause and it was cheap. I replaced those parts and there was still no heat. After re-reading in forums I saw that there was the chance that the safety thermostat was tripped. I located that part on the dryer and sure enough, it was tripped. I am guessing when the drum stopped turning due to the roller assemblies, it got hot and tripped the safety switch. It runs like a dream now!! Read More...
