Jai C Oak Park , IL June 25, 2019 Lint filter catching on clothes and ruining them. The original issue with the dryer is that a corner of the lint screen was sticking out of the lint screen guide, and it would not stay flush with the guide. As a result, many tank top straps, waistband strings, and blankets would get caught on this corner and twist, tear, or warp my clothes. When I did my research on the issue, I kept reading that it was an issue with the lint screen that came with the dryer. So I ordered the lint screen, guide, and cover that appliance part pros recommends to fix this issue. However, when I took the existing lint screen and lint screen guide out of the dryer, I noticed a good 2 softball sized amount of lint buildup at the bottom of the screen. I cleaned the old guide out, and I cleaned out the pit that the guide sat in. After that, I installed the new guide and lint screen in, and it works like a charm. The only thing that I didn't consider until after the installation of the new screen and guide is that if the lint at the bottom of the old guide was lifting it out of place, and that is why the old lint screen was catching on clothes. If you are having issues with the lint screen catching on corners of your clothes, I would recommend taking the old lint screen and guide out and cleaning any lint build up out. Reinstall the old lint screen and guide and see if the corner of the screen is still catching on things. Removal and installation is easy. Just make sure you pay attention to how the old guide is put together, so you have a template to help you put together the new one, if you chose to order it. Joe L Carmel , IN February 10, 2017 Cover guide was broken at top would not hold filter it broke too and caught on clothes Removed lint screen, Unscrewed sensor, and then unscrewed screw next to sensor in middle of cover, unscrewed two top screws on guide and removed. Flap and back piece came out with the cover and I unsnapped it from the cover. Vacuumed hole where cover was (lots of lint). Snapped cover into flap/back piece and slid back into unit, reattached sensor put back in both screws (sensor and middle screw). Put back in two top screws, replaced lint screen. Done - easy, only tricky part is when you put the assembled unit back into its hole you need to make sure wires to sensor are in right position, and then it takes a little effort to push screws into the metal wall of the dryer so they catch and re-thread.
