Jai C Oak Park , IL June 25, 2019 Lint filter catching on clothes and ruining them. The original issue with the dryer is that a corner of the lint screen was sticking out of the lint screen guide, and it would not stay flush with the guide. As a result, many tank top straps, waistband strings, and blankets would get caught on this corner and twist, tear, or warp my clothes. When I did my research on the issue, I kept reading that it was an issue with the lint screen that came with the dryer. So I ordered the lint screen, guide, and cover that appliance part pros recommends to fix this issue. However, when I took the existing lint screen and lint screen guide out of the dryer, I noticed a good 2 softball sized amount of lint buildup at the bottom of the screen. I cleaned the old guide out, and I cleaned out the pit that the guide sat in. After that, I installed the new guide and lint screen in, and it works like a charm. The only thing that I didn't consider until after the installation of the new screen and guide is that if the lint at the bottom of the old guide was lifting it out of place, and that is why the old lint screen was catching on clothes. If you are having issues with the lint screen catching on corners of your clothes, I would recommend taking the old lint screen and guide out and cleaning any lint build up out. Reinstall the old lint screen and guide and see if the corner of the screen is still catching on things. Removal and installation is easy. Just make sure you pay attention to how the old guide is put together, so you have a template to help you put together the new one, if you chose to order it. Walter J Braselton , GA September 19, 2016 Appliance: Model LG DLEX3470V Lint filter was snagging clothes I ordered a new lint filter. Fortunately the site mentioned that there were 2 additional parts that had been changed to make the filter seat properly. I was skeptical about the other parts but went ahead and ordered them. Without this information the filter would have been replaced but the same issue would have reappeared over time. Arthur K Bradenton , FL June 06, 2018 Clothes catching on protruding edge of filter. They were twisted and sometimes ruined. The filter is a poor fit in slot. Allows excess lint to accumulate around and below filter Parts came with no instructions. Removed 4 screws to free parts assembly. Saved felt strip on back of filter guide and spring on filter cover. Assembled parts, after fooling around with spring to get it working properly, and reinserted into dryer. Note: better observation when disassembling parts initially would have saved a little time. Aligning assembly and getting screws back in also took a bit of effort and required getting head and shoulders into dryer opening to see fit. This was a little awkward, particularly with placement of flashlight. Once done, the new parts fit like a charm.
