Paul T Poplar Bluff , MO December 14, 2014 Appliance: LG Microwave Oven LMV1680WW Broken lg microwave door handle I used a putty knife to remove the black plastic cover on the inside of the door to expose the screws to the handle. Then using a Phillips screw driver, I removed the top and bottom screws to remove the handle. The bottom screw was stripped so I had to us a pair of pliers to grip the broken plastic handle to remove the screw. Replaced handle and tightened screws, snapped ring back in place. Jeff G Jacksonville , FL March 03, 2015 Lg microwave broken handle I followed a previous post. I used a plastic putty knife to separate the plastic casing on the inside of the door. Held the broken screw tabs on the outside door with pliers and unscrewed it with a Phillips head screw driver. All done now in reverse order everything should pop back in. Once removed unscrew the old handle and install the new one. Needed pliers to hold the broken handle piece to unscrew it. Saved a ton of money not having to replace the whole microwave and felt great about ourselves for fixing it.
