How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4991598 / MEB41908101 Door Handle

Fairly easy fix. Carefully removed the back plate on the door which could be easily cracked. A putty knife worked well. Once removed unscrew the old handle and install the new one. Needed pliers to hold the broken handle piece to unscrew it. 

I followed a previous post. I used a plastic putty knife to separate the plastic casing on the inside of the door. Held the broken screw tabs on the outside door with pliers and unscrewed it with a Phillips head screw driver. All done now in reverse order everything should pop back in. 

Replaced door cover and handle. It's easy to break the plastic tabs when replacing the door cover so take your time. 

Removed old broken door handle per video link on AppliancePartsPro.com. Installed new handle with no issues. <10 minute job at best. 

We got a replacement door and handle for our over-the-stove unit. Parts arrived quickly and we were able to easily replace it. Saved a ton of money not having to replace the whole microwave and felt great about ourselves for fixing it. I had to remove the broken frame and handle. Replaced them with the parts purchased from appliance parts pros. I watched several videos on their website. The project was relatively easy had I not lost one of the screws

Change the handle, removed the outer cover of the door to expose the screws remove the screws and screwed back the new handle, put the door cover back on and job done! Thanks. 

With video help, the repair went rather easily and took approx. 35 minutes
