Jean T Holyoke , MA October 26, 2014 Appliance: LG Washer WM2496HWM Washer door hinge had all but seized causing water leakage/unusable Replaced door hinge. The part from AppliancePartsPros was an absolutely perfect direct replacement. There is a video available which is very clear and straight-forward. But just as with a car repair, the video demonstrated the repair on a free-standing model that's brand new. In my case, the dryer was stacked on the washer, making this a 2-man job, at least for that part. Then there were a couple of screws that were corroded due to bleach use. (That's another issue with this washer I haven't been able to address ... why the bleach dispenser leaks). The screws holding the hinge on the door end were fine. The screws holding them on the cabinet side were a nightmare. I think it was a matter of aluminum/aluminum weld. However, after a lot of hammering and WD40, they broke free. The total time from start to finish, including removing the dryer and replacing it, was approximately 50 minutes. I don't want to scare you, just be ready for some elbow grease. When you consider how much the service call would cost and how much you're saving by doing it yourself, you'll be surprised how greasy your elbow can suddenly become. :-) Read More... 26 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers

Lawrence F Howell , NJ February 08, 2021 Appliance: LG Washer WM2455HG Door hinge seized up, wouldn’t close properly and leaked water. I removed and replaced the door hinge. The tip of the day here is to have a heat gun. The hinge mounting screws are installed with some type of locktite. The screws were unable to be removed. I heated each screw for about 30 sec and then they busted loose with ease. I did the whole job I under an hour. I did the entire job from the front of the washer.
