Robert G Stafford , VA July 29, 2017 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LRSC26940ST Injection tube too short Seems the repair tech i used to work on the ice maker cut the injection tube too short during last repair. Water would drip into ice bucket or on shelf and cause ice make to lock up. Replacement took less than 5 minutes, perfect fit and only a Phillips screwdriver required. Mark B Foresthill , CA January 09, 2021 Ice maker in home refrigerator stopped working. Then it started leaking water. Found ice block at the fill tube. Leaking was caused by an ice-blockage at the water nozzle. Inspection of injector tubing revealed that a few drops of water stuck to the inner sides. I reasoned if the water did not fully drain, it could freeze in place. Then, the next time the water would flow to fill the ice-maker, a little bit more could freeze to the sides. Eventually, the frozen water would collect until the tube was blocked. The Source of all problems is the water staying in the tube. I replaced the injector tube and water nozzle. The New inject tube did not have water sticking to the sides. The old water nozzle allowed the next piece of tubing to be ejected during the second leak. I replaced that water nozzle in case there was an issue with the nozzle. I also switched from a cable tie to secure that tubing in place to a small hose clamp. The ice maker was placed back into service, but the fridge was left out for several days for a better leak inspection. No leaks, and lots of ice. Problem fixed. Thanks for having the parts I needed. The hardest part of the project was getting the fridge out of the custom built cabinet. Justin B San Antonio , TX July 06, 2021 Water leaked from ice maker into freezer I replaced the ice cube try, injector tube and water nozzle. Probably just replacing the tray would have worked, but I did all the water contact parts to be sure. Be careful prying the old tray out. You have to apply a little more force than seems safe. Also, be sure you disconnect the sensor under the tray before you remove it. It would be nice if there were a repair tutorial on this.
