John H White Hall , MD February 22, 2015 I've maker water dispenser port kept freezing and causing water to leak out of back of fridge Asked question on appliance parts pro, got a response the next day with the possible problem and fix along with the part needed and a instructional video to assist. I ordered the part which took about 3 days to arrive, watched the video, changed out the part ( water valve) and now I'm just monitoring to see if this is the correct fix which it seems to be, no frezzing noticed yet andno leaking water behind unit. Steve W Soddy Daisy , TN August 06, 2022 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LFC21760ST/00 The icemaker overflowing water & freezing up. It appeared that the water inlet valve was not closing fully and was allowing water to continue to trickle into the icemaker. I melted the ice surrounding icemaker & freezer with a hair dryer. Then dried off the inside of the freezer and lubed the rails on the pull-out freezer drawer, etc. with food grade silicone. I installed a new water inlet valve and reconnected the water inlet. After the ten-minute installation, everything is working perfectly and we saved a very expensive service call. George C Lester , AL December 19, 2019 Ice maker would not refill poured water in it and it made ice and dumped but would not refill. I ordered both a water valve and an ice maker ice maker will eventually need replacing anyway Replaced water valve and ice maker is working good now. I did not replace the ice maker at this time but my experience will probably need replacing eventually.
