This fuel valve is a genuine OEM Midwest Engine replacement part for authorized for use on certain models of generators. The function of a fuel valve for a generator is to prevent oil from leaking or reaching the engine when the generator is not in use. If there is work to be performed on the generator, if the generator is being transported from one location to another, or if the generator is not in current use, the fuel valve should be shut off. If the fuel valve is not properly keeping the fuel from the carburetor, or if the fuel that has entered the engine has diluted the oil, the engine may suffer damage and need to be repaired. If a fuel valve is showing signs of malfunction or disrepair, it should be replaced immediately, and the generator should not be used until a proper fuel valve replacement has been secured.This fuel valve is compatible with the following brands: Briggs & Stratton and Husqvarna.
