The Screw is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators, designed to secure components of the ice maker assembly. This screw maintains the structural integrity of the ice maker, ensuring that all parts are tightly fastened to prevent malfunction or inefficiency in ice production. 

Causes of failure can include stripping of the screw threads through over-tightening or corrosion, leading to a less secure fit.

Symptoms of a bad Screw include:

  • Loose or dislodged components within the ice maker assembly.
  • Inconsistent or halted ice production due to components shifting.
  • Unusual noises emanating from the ice maker as a result of loose parts.

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.
