Description

This is a blade baffle assembly for a lawn mower. Baffles in a lawn mower use air flow to move grass cuttings up and out of a discharge chute to prevent clogging. This keeps grass clippings from clogging up the mower deck and effectively disperses them back out of the machine. It is compatible with Craftsman and Cub Cadet lawn mowers. Baffles can be removed with high-volume grasses, but most precision cutting benefits from the baffle assembly. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer and is sold individually. Baffles should be replaced if they are dented or rusted, as the airflow will be restricted and prevent the clippings from properly exiting the machine. This could be a small problem or a large problem depending on the damage to the baffles. To remove a baffle, start by removing the carriage bolts and flange lock nuts that hold the baffle onto the deck. To reinstall, simply replace the old with the new and secure with the same hardware.
