Description
The forward cable is used in yard and garden tillers. It is responsible for engaging the transmission which will cause the tiller to propel forward. It also works to rotate the tines in situations where the bail arm has been pulled toward the handle. If the forward cable starts to come loose or has lost proper tension, it may need to be tightening or replaced. This part will lose tension as time goes on, so making adjustments is part of its regular maintenance. However, a forward cable that is damaged or broken will need to be replaced. Work gloves should be worn when replacing the forward cable. Before replacement, the spark plug cap plug should be removed and the throttle lever needs to be pushed down. Next, remove the throttle lever, throttle cable clip, and then the forward cable. The new part can then be installed and the rest of the components replaced. This forward cable is created for use with Yard Man, Cub Cadet, MTD, Craftsman, Huskee, and Yard Machines tillers. It is an individual component that is genuine OEM and comes directly from the manufacturer. Various tools, including a screwdriver, pliers, and socket wrench may be needed for the replacement.
