Clamps may be spring or screw/band clamps. Spring clamps require no tools to install and remove; however, the size must be more accurate than when using screw/band clamps. Screw/band clamps are adjustable and can be tightened or loosened. Screw clamps should be inspected periodically to ensure tightness and that the clamps have not rusted.Hose clamps are installed approximately 1/4 inch below the end of the hose. If two clamps are used, there should be 1/4 inch between the two bands. When using a screw clamp, loosen the screw with a screwdriver just enough to fit the clamp over the hose.
