Description

A lower flexible drive shaft is located inside lawn trimmer attachments. It is mounted inside the lower boom housing. The function of the part is to drive the trimmer head. The drive shaft will deteriorate and become more round with use. The rounded ends will ultimately fail to engage the trimmer head. The lower flexible drive shaft may also break or kink. The trimmer head stops quickly when this occurs. The trimmer will no longer function properly, and a replacement part is required.When replacing the lower flexible drive shaft in a trimmer, wear protective gloves. Start by removing the trimmer head, reel, and line assembly. Use a screwdriver to remove the outer head. Remove the guard assembly. Remove the bushing housing assembly. Access the lower flexible drive shaft and remove the damaged part. Lubricate the new part and install it with the lower flexible drive shaft's ring closest to the trimmer head.
