Description

This is a genuine replacement pawl assembly for select MTD engines. This pawl assembly attaches to the crankshaft in the motor. It is responsible for rotating the shaft and flywheel as a reaction to the recoil starter rope being pulled. The part is subject to constant motion and can wear down over time or otherwise fail. If the pawl assembly goes bad, the shaft and flywheel will not be able to rotate and the engine will not run properly, if at all.
