Description

This pushrod is a metal rod that is used in overhead valve engines. It transfers the motion of the camshaft within the engine block to the valves within the cylinder head. One end of the rod is fitted with a lifter that contacts the camshaft. Rods can slip or wear with time and may even break or bend. The pushrod is used within the exhaust valve, and it may become stuck or damaged and require replacement. However, it is not always the rod that is the root of the problem. Malfunctioning valves or bad fuel can be behind bent or broken rods, so a bit of diagnostic work is best done while making the replacement of the rod or associated valves.
