This part is a magnetron that is used on microwave units. This part is responsible for producing the microwaves that cook the food inside of the unit. In the event that the microwave does not heat, it is likely that the magnetron will need to be replaced. The magnetron could burn out if the microwave oven has been run while it was empty. If this is the case, this part will be a high-quality replacement part. Microwaves contain high-voltage capacitors that can retain a lethal electrical charge, even if the unit is unplugged.
