This capacitor stores and releases electrical energy to help power your microwave's magnetron and other components. It works with the transformer to provide the high voltage needed for microwave operation. If your microwave won't heat food, makes unusual noises, or trips circuit breakers, a faulty capacitor is often the cause.
The high voltage wire carries electrical current from the transformer to the magnetron inside the microwave. Replace it if the microwave doesn't heat food, sparks internally, or fails to start completely.
