We replaced the main circuit board and the LED started to work and the condenser fan worked, but all we had were relay clicking sounds, but no cooling. I ordered a new switch from APP and fixed my fridge. However, the video posted for this repair on this site is not applicable to newer refrigerator models. I have a 2015 GE GTE18IHCRSS and had to drop the control housing (#432 in the diagram) to attach the wire/plug assembly to the switch. Only had to remove the front screw with a 1/4" nut driver and that provided enough of a gap for me to plug in the switch. I changed the motherboard - computer and also changed the motor in the freezer, because it was doing a howling sound every time it turned on. I used a set of ring pliers to remove the old retaining ring, then spread the plastic ribs around the fan motor shaft with a small flat bladed screwdriver to ease removal of the old fan blade. I reversed the process to replace the blade, gently tapping a socket from my socket wrench set placed over the motor shaft and ribs with a small rubber mallet. I purchased main control board/defrost limiter thermostat and defrost heater I only needed the defrost limiter thermostat fairly easy to do simple tools needed. I would rate this job as a 6 or 7 on a scale of 10 10 being most difficult the only thing that took time was defrosting the evaporator I used a small steam cleaner worked well Read more

Well I got a perfectly good older GE fridge from some friends that bought a house that had this fridge in it. they took the doors off and hinges and were going to throw it away and my wife don't throw it away we'll take it! so they gave it to my wife and had lost one of the hinges and a few screws. so I cleaned it up ordered the screws that I needed found a hinge ( it was discontinued ) and put it together and now we have a perfectly good 2nd fridge!
