I pulled out the old housing and unplugged the motor. It pretty much came out in pieces.
Remove the plastic from the motor, then had to take a pair of vice grips to hold the spindle in place to remove the auger. Remove what was still attached to the old Housing. Cleaned everything up and put the whole unit back together. The motor looked like it was somewhat cooked but still worked, so I ordered a new motor and auger to replace it. I watched the videos available from AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the parts to fix the problem. The problem required $20.00 worth of parts, compared to $800 to replace the refrigerator.
