The ice bucket housing had disintegrated and the motor twisted off Lloyd W. • Streamwood , IL • January 08, 2026
I pulled out the old housing and unplugged the motor. It pretty much came out in pieces.
Remove the plastic from the motor, then had to take a pair of vice grips to hold the spindle in place to remove the auger. Remove what was still attached to the old Housing. Cleaned everything up and put the whole unit back together. The motor looked like it was somewhat cooked but still worked, so I ordered a new motor and auger to replace it. Because this fridge is 24 yrs old, Appliancepartspros...

This mounting bracket secures the ice maker motor assembly to the freezer housing so the motor stays aligned for reliable ice production. Replacing a damaged bracket restores proper motor positioning and reduces unwanted movement. What it does:
- Secures the ice maker motor to the freezer housing to maintain correct alignment.
- Prevents motor wobble or misalignment that can cause noisy operation or incomplete ice ejection.
- Helps ensure the motor drives the ice maker gears properly for consistent ice production.
- Commonly replaced when the bracket is cracked, bent, or missing mounting points.
What's included: One ice maker motor bracket. Install notes:
- Always disconnect power to the appliance before servicing.
- Access the ice maker per the service manual; remove the ice maker or access panel as needed to reach the bracket.
- Reuse original mounting hardware unless new hardware is explicitly included; align bracket so the motor turns freely without binding.

Replaced 2 broken parts saved fridge. Roger M. • Ravenna , OH • June 17, 2023
Replaced the 2 parts that had broken (due to the wrong plastic selection by Kenmore IMO.
The motor needed to be re-clocked but this video https://youtu.be/QK8C8rxbkhc gave the information needed.
Between AppliancePartsPros.com and youtube I have rebuilt this fridge (water valve, Ice maker, Auger gearbox and ice shute door)
Probably could do the job in about 30 minutes now that I know how and exactly what needs to be done. Only needed the pliers to turn the motor shaft

This fan scroll gasket seals the evaporator/fan housing to prevent air bypass and maintain proper airflow through the evaporator. Replacing a worn gasket helps restore efficient cooling and reduces frost buildup. What it does:
- Seals the fan scroll/evaporator housing to direct cold air through the evaporator fins
- Prevents air leaks that can cause reduced cooling or temperature fluctuations
- Helps reduce frost or ice buildup by ensuring consistent airflow over the coil
- Can reduce abnormal fan noise caused by air turbulence around a damaged seal
What's included: One fan scroll gasket. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before beginning any work.
- Remove the evaporator/fan housing cover and carefully pull out the old gasket.
- Clean mating surfaces of debris and residue for a flush seal before installing the new gasket.
- Seat the gasket fully around the scroll; reassemble panels and restore power to test operation.

Replaced Evaporator motor after watching the video. The new motor had the connectors on back side, but was still easy to hook up.
Also replaced the Dispenser Control bracket after watching the video.
Both jobs were very easy. So Quiet, I had to open the freezer to hear if the fan was running. Awesome!!
