Refrigerator stopped making ice Chris L. • Mount Prospect , IL • November 25, 2019
Removed the faulty icemaker assembly and installed the new one and now I'm good to go. I had to remove the freezer drawer (just four screws to do this) since it is a bottom drawer freezer. The most challenging thing was getting the mounting screws reinstalled as there wasn't enough room to get my head in there to see what I was doing.

This fan scroll gasket seals the evaporator/fan housing to prevent air bypass and maintain proper airflow through the evaporator. Replacing a worn gasket helps restore efficient cooling and reduces frost buildup. What it does:
- Seals the fan scroll/evaporator housing to direct cold air through the evaporator fins
- Prevents air leaks that can cause reduced cooling or temperature fluctuations
- Helps reduce frost or ice buildup by ensuring consistent airflow over the coil
- Can reduce abnormal fan noise caused by air turbulence around a damaged seal
What's included: One fan scroll gasket. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before beginning any work.
- Remove the evaporator/fan housing cover and carefully pull out the old gasket.
- Clean mating surfaces of debris and residue for a flush seal before installing the new gasket.
- Seat the gasket fully around the scroll; reassemble panels and restore power to test operation.
