My dryer lint filter was clogged beyond regular cleaning due to its age. After 15 years of daily use it was time to replace. In.the process of determining why the dryer was taking so long to dry loads, I noticed the filter housing gasket had torn off somehow which allow a lot of lint to pass through into the dryers main housing. I couldn’t figure out what sensor was bad. I changed some of the usual suspects- thermostat, thermistor, high limit sensor n even the coils on the gas valve which tested slightly out of spec on the ohms.
