New gasket. Thought it would be as easy as the video demonstration ('just slide the gasket in") but it wasn't. My unit is 16 years old, so the old gasket was really stuck in there. We were working on it while the freezer was on and cold, which made everything less flexible. The old foam required a lot of scraping - even when the crumbs of it came loose, they didn't necessarily come out of the gasket groove. Our old kenmore freezer was turning on and off the power was on but the compreesor kept starting and stopping John T. • Middletown , RI • August 28, 2014
I checked on line for possible issues and it came back to the PTC relay overload assembly. I ordered one and verified with the technician if the instructions for wiring it up to an older model is addressed. He sent me a copy of the instructions and it covered everything. The part came in a about three days and I had it wired up in about 30 minutes with no issues.
It's been running like a champ.
