The installation of the new condenser motor was as the video described; there were no surprises. I noted the difference in operation immediately, the fan was moving at a higher rate of speed in a smoother motion. The new motor had far less shaft end play and seems to move more air across the condenser coil than the original motor. All in all, this was a relatively easy repair that solved a real refrigerator performance problem; the unit now cycles less often and generates less compressor heat.

Replaced the ice maker. The kit came with everything I needed to replace the ice maker. Parts that did not come with the kit were re-used from the old one. My Whirlpool refrig/freezer is an older model so the wiring harness that came with the kit was different from my existing. So instead of disconnecting the ice maker wiring harness from the freezer, I had to disconnect the harness at the ice maker. That was a b..... I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered.
