The Washer Detergent Container is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool washers. It fits securely inside the dispenser drawer and is compartmentalized to hold detergent, fabric softener, and bleach. This container ensures the proper distribution of each cleaning agent during the wash cycle for optimal cleaning performance.
Over time, the detergent container may deteriorate due to exposure to chemicals, high temperatures, or buildup of residue, leading to potential leaks, blockages, or compromised distribution of cleaning agents.
Color: White
Symptoms of a faulty Washer Detergent Container include:
- Leaks from the dispenser drawer
- Clogged or restricted compartments
- Inconsistent or improper dispensing of detergent, fabric softener, or bleach
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Replaced the switch. The lever and cam looked good, but they are inexpensive and the machine is 15 years old, so I replaced them as well.

The hose connecting the dispenser to the washer was leaking while removing the hose the plastic nipple from the dispenser broke off the machine is 20 years old Martin C. • Memphis , MI • February 08, 2016
I ordered the dispenser and the distribution nozzle since the old one was in bad shape. I also replaced the boot since I had to take the entire machine apart and it is 20 years old. I watched your videos on you tune to learn what to do. I recently lost my job and really could not afford to hire someone to fix my washer. I have to say it wasn't that hard to do and my wife was so happy that I was able to fix it myself! I probably saved $200 or $300 in service calls and labor on top of what they...
