The main control board is the primary circuit board that controls the refrigerator's essential functions of maintaining and controlling temperature. If the refrigerator is no longer staying cool, powering on, or maintaining proper temperature, the main control board will need to be replaced. To begin, start by unplugging the refrigerator. Once unplugged, proceed to uninstall the inner door panel of the refrigerator by removing the mounting screws. Once removed, access the old control board. Remove the wire harness and any individual wires attached to the old board. After that, pull the old board out of its mounting brackets to fully remove it from the refrigerator. Reinsert the wires into their correct terminals on the new board and snap it into its mounting brackets. Once secured, reinstall the inner panel of the refrigerator and restore power to the appliance. Replace both thee the dispenser lever and the housing as both had broken tabs. Took about 45 minutes. Pretty straight forward repair. Easy enough that you can simply look at it to see how it comes apart. Tip: to get main panel off, remove 3 screws under drip tray then the panel slides up to come off door. Read more
