My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. Order new part, took apart in door water and ice dispensing assembly
(After watching how to video on Appliance Parts Pro site) and
Replaced part. Only hard part was feeding water line back through hole. I had to tape a piece of string to guide it back through. Wish I knew how the pros do it - wish that had been highlighted in re-assembly video. Still $35 to fix a refrigerator and 30 minutes of my time is very sweet.
