This is the second time of needing repair. I remove the ice bucket, open the crusher, remove the 5 blades. Straighten the blades, reinstall. I then order new blades, The next time it happens I will install the new blades. The reason for the malfunction, (my guess), two ice cubes partially melted stick together and the size and angel the enter crusher cause the problem. This is a plastic actuator pad located behind the dispenser panel on a refrigerator door. When you press a glass against it, it triggers the water dispenser switch to start the flow of water. Replace this actuator if the water dispenser no longer responds to pressure, the paddle is cracked or broken, or if you have to press unusually hard to get water to dispense.

Removed the water and ice dispenser from the freezer door and replaced the part Some screws were rusted and were hard to remove The ice dispenser was surprisingly dirty so the entire unit had to be cleaned. My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder.
