Rusted tines on upper and lower racks Michelle L. • Sussex , WI • October 19, 2018
Kitchen Aid dishwasher is 11 years old, and the tines have been rusting and biting the dust one by over the last few years. Rather than further destroy my dishes by abrading them with rust particles, I decided to get new racks. They are terribly expensive, and I pondered getting a new dishwasher. It wouldn't be that much more expensive. But I love mine and how well it washes. It has a stainless interior, and all of the seals are in excellent shape. I didn't need any tools. (Although I'm a...

Lights on control panel but would not start William H. • Mount Pleasant , SC • June 13, 2015
Replaced control panel and ribbon cable. Worked for half a cycle and then power went dead. Further trouble shooting led me to possible fuse failure since I had power to fuse but not to door switch. Replaced fuse and now working perfectly. I'm sure fuse had nothing to do with replacing other parts. It just happened to go bad at that time

The Whirlpool push on retainer nut is an OEM replacement part responsible for securing the heating element in the dishwasher. It is located in the base of the dishwasher's tub to hold the heating element firmly in place. The push-on retainer nut keeps the heating element securely connected to the dishwasher's electrical system while allowing for easy removal and replacement when necessary.
Over time, push on retainer nuts can become loose, worn out, or damaged due to regular use, vibrations, or accidental mishandling. If a retainer nut fails, it can lead to parts becoming unstable or disconnected.
Symptoms of a bad push on retainer nut include:
- Loose or unstable dishwasher components
- Parts falling off or becoming misaligned
- Unusual noises during the wash cycle
- Difficulty in securing components within the dishwasher
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models

Our dishwasher would not start. Rory D. • Fairfield , CA • May 18, 2020
A bit of searching on the internet narrowed the problem down to either the heating element or the control board. As I am not much of a diagnostician I decided to replace both. Along this same line, I would never have attempted these repairs if it hadn't been for the clear, easy to understand repair videos provided for each part. Further, my decision to do my own repairs was made easier because the prices of the parts was so reasonable.
I took my time, reviewed the videos and replaced the...

This is a durable pump and motor assembly for dishwashers. The purpose of the pump and motor is to pump water that goes through the spray arms when the dishwasher moves through a cycle. If the pump and motor assembly isn't working correctly, it could lead to dishes that are dirty after a cycle is complete. Other signs of a bad pump and motor include pooling water after a cycle and whining noises. If the pump and motor assembly need to be replaced, make sure the dishwasher is unplugged. Use a pair of work gloves to protect the hands throughout the process. Close the water supply valve and disconnect the drain line. Replacing the pump and motor assembly may require tilting the dishwasher on its side to disassemble the components that are in the way of the replacement. Once the pump and motor have been removed, install the new parts and reassemble the dishwasher before use.Created for use with dishwashers by KitchenAid, Kenmore, and Whirlpool, this pump and motor assembly is a genuine OEM replacement part. It is sold as a single part. This component is directly sourced from the manufacturer.

The pump motor would not work Rowan M. • Carrollton , TX • March 06, 2016
I replaced the pump and motor part. It was very easy, the only tricky part is when you place the new one in the hole you have to press hard on the pump and this allows the pump to go all the way down. While pushing you can then move the locking levers in place.
