Broken handle foot pedal and missing parts Donald M. • Lake Arrowhead , CA • April 05, 2015
This trash compactor is in our vacation home. We never use it and now we are selling the house. When I looked to replace it I was amazed at how expensive a new compactor would cost. I found the serial number on the current compact entered it and your web site came up. Your schematics were excellent and made the repair very easy!

This power nut threads onto the trash compactor's drive screw to raise and lower the ram. Replacing a worn nut restores smooth ram travel and helps prevent binding, stalling, or a ram that doesn't move.
- Threads onto the drive screw to convert motor rotation into up/down ram movement
- Worn or stripped threads can stop ram movement or cause binding under load
- Common symptoms: motor runs but ram doesn't move; grinding/stripping noises; ram stuck partway up or down
What's included: 1 power nut. Installation notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker; pull the compactor from the cabinet as needed for access
- Support and secure the ram before removing the nut to prevent sudden movement
- Inspect the drive screw and ram guides for wear; replace any damaged parts
- After reassembly, run a full cycle to ensure smooth, complete ram travel

Compactor ram would not compress trash ram would go down but not return unless stopped and restarted Edwin R. • San Jose , CA • October 31, 2014
Removed top plate and replaced power nuts ONE at a time (so ram does not fall). Make sure the threaded rods stick up the same amount above the top of the power nuts on each side (about 2 turns on each nut) when fastening nut covers. Now the compactor is good for another 30 years!

- Common symptoms: loose or wobbly knob, switch rotates in the panel, missing/damaged nut
- Often needed after service if the original nut is stripped or lost
What's included: 1 switch nut Install notes:
- Disconnect electrical power before servicing
- Remove the knob and any decorative escutcheon; thread the new nut onto the switch bushing from the front of the panel
- Support the switch from behind while tightening; do not overtighten to avoid panel or switch damage
- Restore power and test control operation

Trash compactor one roller was missing and the handle cracked several times had been super glued too often Thomas N. • Hill Country Village , TX • January 28, 2020
After I was shocked at the price to replace the trash compactor, I was happy to find that the parts, both front & back rollers and the handle, were available from AppliancePartsPros.com. They arrived as scheduled and after viewing two videos, the job went very smooth. I hope it puts another 27 years life into the unit.

My 1984 dishwasher that still works great was an eyesore & I didn't match my other appliances. Dorothy L. • Raleigh , NC • March 24, 2014
I purchased a can of black appliance spray paint, removed the panels on the dishwasher, sprayed them, and a few hours later put them back. They're beautiful and it looks like I have a brand new dishwasher! It now matches everything and looks great with the new granite counter tops I just installed. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT IDEA!!! I'm a 76 year old female and my friends think I'm a genius!

Power screw hub is a replacement drive hub that secures the washer's drive screw/agitator to the transmission, helping restore proper agitation and reduce slipping. Fits applications where a worn or broken hub causes drive loss. What it does:
- Transfers rotational force from the drive screw/agitator to the transmission so the washer can agitate or spin.
- Replaces stripped or worn splines that allow the agitator or drive screw to slip under load.
- Common symptoms it can help fix: agitator or drum won't engage, intermittent agitation, grinding or squeaking during cycles.
- Install replacement if splines are visibly damaged or if the hub no longer holds the drive assembly securely.
What's included: One power screw hub. Install notes:
- Disconnect electrical power (and water supply if applicable) before beginning any repair.
- Remove agitator/drive components; use the correct tools to avoid further spline damage.
- Inspect mating splines and fasteners; replace any damaged hardware and clean the area before installation.
- After reassembly, run a short test cycle to confirm normal operation.

- Provides the hardened bearing surface for a thrust bearing assembly
- Supports axial load and helps maintain proper end-play in the mechanism
- Reduces friction to allow smoother rotation under load
- Wear may present as grinding/scraping noises, rough or binding motion, excessive axial play, or visible scoring
What's included: 1 thrust race Installation notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off water/gas before servicing
- Access the thrust-bearing area; note the order and orientation of races, bearings, and washers for reassembly
- Clean mating surfaces; replace any worn companion parts and lubricate only if specified by the service documentation
