- Prevents overheating by opening the circuit when temperatures exceed safe limits
- Commonly replaced when the appliance does not reach or maintain the correct temperature
- Can stop intermittent cooling or continuous-run symptoms when the original thermostat fails

This fixed thermostat monitors and helps regulate appliance temperature to maintain safe operation and reliable cooling/heating. It replaces a worn or failed thermostat to restore proper cycling and temperature control. What it does:

- Commonly used to address symptoms like no temperature control, compressor or heater running nonstop, or failure to reach set temperature
- Works as a safety/control device to reduce risk of overheating when operating correctly
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing to avoid shock or injury
- Locate and access the thermostat per your model's service instructions (typically mounted near the evaporator, heater, or air path)

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
The stainless steel panel fell off the bottom drawer because the very bottom trim broke Dee W. • Davie , FL • August 01, 2014
I removed the bottom drawer, took the two screws out of the bottom of the drawer, slid the top of the stainless steel panel up behind the pull handle trim. ( which I also replaced with a part from appliance parts pros just last year) And installed the bottom trim to keep the panel tightly in place. Reinstalled the bottom drawer.
