I decided to change out the left side element and switch. The parts received from AppliancePartsPros cross-referenced perfectly to the OEM model numbers and appeared to be exact duplicates.
SAFETY ALERT: Must shut off the power! The install required an electrical skill set, but for the most part, the average handyman can snap a couple of pictures or create a color scheme wire chart to ensure the female spade are landed in the proper locations; 15 to be exact. Total install about 1 hour.

I replaced the ball and socket connection for the drum. After doing so, I realized that the belt had been stretched and the tension pulley was not putting enough tension on the belt to turn the drum. After ordering a new belt, extra screw that was lost while disassembling the dryer, and some high temperature lubricant for the drum ball and socket the dryer now runs as well as it did when it was new.
