The Water Valve Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It is essential for controlling the flow of water to the ice maker and the water dispenser. This solenoid-operated valve responds to signals from the refrigerator’s electronic control system to accurately manage the release of water, ensuring efficient operation and reliability.
Symptoms of a bad Water Valve Assembly include:
- The ice maker not producing ice or producing very small cubes
- The water dispenser not functioning or dispensing a trickle instead of a steady flow
- Water leaking from the refrigerator
Causes of a bad water valve assembly can stem from mineral deposits that clog the valve, electrical failures that impair the valve’s operation, or wear and tear from normal usage leading to leaks or malfunctions.
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.
Note: Flow meter is not needed on all models, remove if necessary. Redesigned single valve replaces older dual solenoid valves. Wiring harness is included. Located behind the refrigerator.
This part fixes the following symptoms
-
Leaking
-
Not dispensing water

My refrigerator developed a leak in the water line that serves the ice maker and cold water dispenser John M. • Walkersville , MD • November 24, 2014
I replaced the solenoid valve and trimmed a small amount of the tubing that serves the ice maker and water dispenser. The only problem was there is almost NO slack in that tubing. If you trim more than a half inch off, you won't have enough tubing to connect it on both ends.

Symptoms of a bad water filter bypass include:
- Reduced water flow or no water flow to the dispenser
- Ice maker not producing ice
- Water leaks around the bypass plug area
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

Door seals needed replacing they were torn and had mildew on them Leon H. • La Plata , MD • November 22, 2019
This was super easy! I ordered the replacement seals from AppliancePartsPros, they also had a video showing how to do it. Once I received the set I simply removed the old ones by pulling them away from the door. I took the new ones and pressed them into place. The only tool needed, was a screwdriver to remove the door divider from the left door. Note- the seal for the left door is different from the right door so you will want to be sure to compare the new seals to the old seals before...

The Door Gasket Assembly is an OEM replacement part for LG refrigerators. As a vital component of the refrigerator door, the gasket assembly helps to create an air-tight seal around the door opening. This prevents warm air from entering the interior compartment, maintaining consistent temperatures and preserving food freshness.
The causes of a bad gasket assembly can include wear and tear over time, damage due to overtightening of the door, or compression of the gasket material from repeated opening and closing of the door.
Symptoms of a bad gasket assembly include:
- Difficulty closing or improper alignment of the door
- Warm air leaking into the interior refrigerator sections
- Higher energy costs from the compressor working overtime
- Loss of the "cooler" temperature feel and decreased freshness of foods stored inside
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore refrigerators.
