I replaced the ice maker assembly, which included the motor and electronics. I also replaced the door seal and the input cold air duct seals. The ice maker is mounted with only 2 philips screws, so it is easy to remove. The most difficult part is the harness, specifically the ground screw. The issue is that the wire is short and you need to turn the unit in order to get a screwdriver in. The alarm beeped for two days before I figured out that the light switch in the freezer was the problem. The light bulb- I thought - had burned out a long time ago, but it was actually frozen to where the light just would not come on. Apparently the freezer door had been left open long enough to thaw out the switch and now the light was working. Problem was that now it wasn't turning off even when the door closed.
