The Drain Pump and Motor is an original LG (OEM) replacement part for LG made washing machines that is responsible for removing water from the washer at the end of the wash cycle. The pump forces water out through the drain hose so that clothing comes out free of excess water, making the drying process faster.
Symptoms of a failing Drain Pump Motor include:
- Water not draining out of the washing machine
- Noisy or unusual sounds coming from the pump area during the drain cycle
- The washing machine stopping mid-cycle
Causes of a bad Drain Pump Motor can range from obstructions in the pump or hose, which can strain or damage the motor, to wear and tear from regular use leading to motor failure. Electrical issues can also affect the motor's performance, preventing it from operating correctly.
This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Lg washer not draining odd sounding pump noise Tom K. • Blaine , WA • September 07, 2014
It was fairly obvious that the washer drainer motor had failed, water was not draining, filter was clean (bottom lower left panel door, have a pail ready!) and drain line was not blocked.
Someone had provided great advice on the Appliance Parts Pro's site about replacing the drain motor from the bottom. Great suggestion! Easy to do, although be prepared for more water to drain from the washing machine onto the floor after you lay it over.
I carefully lowered the machine onto it's back,...

The Dispenser Assembly is an OEM part for LG front-loading washers. It is responsible for dispensing detergent and fabric softener at the appropriate times during the wash cycle. The dispenser assembly contains separate compartments for detergent and fabric softener, as well as timed mechanisms that release each additive when needed for cleaning and softening results.
Causes of a bad dispenser assembly can include issues with the dispensing mechanisms like clogging, jamming, or malfunctions preventing the timely release of detergent and softener. Damage to compartment seals or lids could also cause improper dispensing.
Symptoms of a bad dispenser assembly include:
- Residue or buildup of detergent in the drum or tub
- Strong detergent or fabric softener odors that won't come out of clothes
- Dispenser drawers, lids, or seals that do not close or lock securely
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

Drum was filling up with water at night John C. • York , ME • April 23, 2021
I ordered both the hot and cold water inlet valves because I wasn't sure which one may have been faulty. I installed them exactly the way the on line video showed, tested them and reinstalled the top of the washer. Checked several days and have found no sign of water. This was such an easy fix!

Bad bearings seal and spider David R. • Jacksonville , FL • February 04, 2017
If your LG Front load washers sounds like a freight train, STOP USING IT. You're doing more damage and will need more parts to fix it.
After the noise became unbearable, I began to explore and disassemble. I knew enough to know the bearings must be bad but had never done this repair before. ( I am however pretty mechanically inclined.)
Watch this video before you start tearing your LG apart. APP did a great job explaining the steps of the repair. Do a search on this site or youtube.com with...
