The Camshaft is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It plays a crucial role in the proper operation of the refrigerator's door hinge, ensuring smooth and secure opening and closing. The camshaft helps align the door and maintains the seal, preventing warm air from entering the refrigerator.
You should replace the camshaft if it becomes worn out or damaged. Causes of a bad camshaft can include wear and tear from frequent use, physical damage from impact or mishandling, and misalignment issues that stress the camshaft over time.
Symptoms of a bad camshaft include:
- Difficulty in opening or closing the refrigerator door
- The door not staying closed
- Unusual noises when opening or closing the door
- Misalignment of the refrigerator door
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

The left door cam shaft (latch to keep it closed) broke Gerald W. • Allen , TX • May 30, 2015
Ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com for less than $3.00. It took me less than 5 minutes to replace the part.
I got two estimates to fix this and just to come out and look at the problem was $150 plus a 2nd trip out to replace the part.
I ordered an extra for the left door and one for the right door.

Causes of a bad ice bucket assembly can include damage to internal parts like the ice scoop or issues with the sliding and dumping mechanics over time. Wear and tear is also common as this assembly undergoes frequent usage.
Symptoms of a failed ice bucket assembly include:
- Ice clumping or sticking inside the bucket
- Difficulty removing ice from the bucket
- Leaks or water spills from the dump chute
- The bucket becoming jammed or stuck in the freezer rail system
This replacement is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models that utilize the LG icemaker system.
