My problem was a broken spider. I followed your excellent video, but have some additional input that should be incorporated in a new video showing the required upgrade procedures and parts required to repair an early model with damaged front tub half using currently available parts. The upper counter-balance weight mount design is a poor design to begin with. It started to rattle loose approximately 5yrs into the 8yrs that we've owned it. As it would start to loosen up (as evidenced by the loud banging noise exhibited during operation); I'd shut it down, pull the top off, remove the weight (it was almost always half rattled off at this point), wrap the mount lugs with friction tape (the plastic lugs were being worn down/chaffed by the balance weight), put the weight back...
