My problem was a broken spider. I followed your excellent video, but have some additional input that should be incorporated in a new video showing the required upgrade procedures and parts required to repair an early model with damaged front tub half using currently available parts. Corroded hinge Alan S. • Thomasville , GA • December 21, 2014
Following a you tube video, I disassembled the washer to the level necessary to access hinge and replaced the assembly. Note that if your assembly uses Phillips screws on the door, they use a thread locker compound. In order to remove the screws, heat them from the back with a propane torch for about 15 seconds. I wished the new hinge came with screws instead of reusing the old ones.
