This is the outer rear tub assembly that includes the bearing for a front-load or top-load washing machine. It supports the inner drum and allows it to spin smoothly during wash and spin cycles. Replace this assembly if you hear loud rumbling or grinding noises during the spin cycle, notice water leaking from the rear of the tub, or the drum wobbles excessively.

Wendy on the phone was very helpful. WM3997HWA/01 is an all-in-one washer/dryer from 2017 and does not have a rotor position sensor on the stator. She helped determine that Stator Assembly AJB73816004 was the fix. There is also a 00 or 01 after the model number which can be found on the serial number tag when you open the door that identifies the different series. Easy repair to take on. Hope this helps.
