Our LG WT5001 top loader washer had gotten progressively worse over the last couple years. It started with a rumbling sound with seal squeaking noise. The rumbling kept getting worse until finally there is a metal on metal scraping sound. The bearings in the clutch/transmission were worn out to the point that the direct drive motor rotor (what you see when you turn the washer on it's back and look underneath) was rubbing on the motor stator core. The bearings were worn out and allowing the... Read more

The remaining uncertainty would reside in the electronic board circuitry. The price of replacing the water inlet valve was half of a local repair call just to diagnose the issue so I decided to have faith in the odds presented to me. The part arrived on time, and using AppliancePros advice and... Read more

She helped determine that Stator Assembly AJB73816004 was the fix. There is also a 00 or 01 after the model number which can be found on the serial number tag when you open the door that identifies the different series. Easy repair to take on. Hope this helps. Had this same problem with my previous Whirlpool washer so I knew what the problem was on my LG machine. Ordered the suspension rods and my husband and I replaced them in about five minutes.
