After dismounting the unit from its wall-hanging bracket, the most tedious part of the repair was removing over a dozen screws holding the cover in place from the top, bottom, and both sides. Unplugged power cord. Removed the microwave from over the range. Removed vent and screws on of microwave, which allowed me to remove compartment containing sensor at upper left area of microwave. Removed clamp holding sensor. Removed and replaced sensor. Reversed process and reinstalled unit.

I got Samsungs repair manual and started testing the components and found the magnetron was shorted internally, 107 ohm to ground. Also found low resistance on both the primary and secondary side of the transformer, according to the manual. THE MANUAL IS INCORRECT, THE REPLACEMENT TRANSFORMER HAD THE SAME RESISTANCE. Using the diode test function on the test meter indicated the diode was open. found the same on the replacement diode, I wound up using a 9v battery and measured the voltage...

The manufacture did not crimp the connectors down all the way so that every time the capacitor discharged the connector would arc on the sensor. When I took the cover off and noticed the damage the plastic had already turned to ash. Replaced the cutoff sensor with the one advised to me by Appliance Parts Pros and everything works as it should. I also soldered the connection this time just to be sure.
