Chris, the overlay 00415293 can be ordered through the item information page. To replace it, the grease vents would be removed and the power supply turned off to access the control housing. This will allow the mounting screws to be removed so that it can be moved to easily replace the overlay.

I have this Thermador vent hood, and all of a sudden it began to turn on by itself. When it does that, you cannot turn it off. Suddenly, it will level out, and you can turn it off again, but it will misbehave again. I have it turned off at the breaker. I suspect the problem lies with the control panel; the buttons that turn it on and off and control the lights. However, I am not sure which parts I need to order. I see what I think is needed, but am not sure. Can you help, please?

Catherine, The Control Overlay, won't be needed, unless it's damaged, discolored, etc. but based on your post description you will need the 00415292 / 00415292 Control Board. The mini switches and/or the control board tracers/circuits have deteriorated and closing circuits and causing the vent hood to"turn on by itself" .

Hello Roger, If you have removed the screws from the housing it should come on out. You can try flexing it with a flat blade screwdriver and if there are any hidden screws, this should reveal them for you.

Hello Tim, The overlay label control you were looking at has not been discontinued. It shows in stock and will ship today if ordered. This switch is accessed by removing about four screws that hold the light assembly in place. Once the light assembly is removed, the electronics are accessed through this opening.
